The Hotel was indeed 4* and very good for the elderly more so than the under 60. the entertainment by the Thomson Animation Team was superb.
The overall service in the hotel was very good and the entertainment was varied and of a very high standered
My only complaint was the pool side food thos could be improved and because we would leave the pool at lunch time were surprised at the the number of hotel guest who were eating out wither it was price or quality is hard to say.
Ideal for a relaxing holiday in a well situated hotel.the hotel seems to favour more ederley clients , but I think this is because of the promanade being flat and walkable. I am sure nothing will ever change at this hotel being a thomsom gold, families would change it because not many 10 year olds do sequence dancing afternoon and evening. well worth the money but limited clientel
The hotel was good value for our package of dinner bed and breakfast for 1 night, the staff we all pleasant and helpful the location was very good right on the sea front.
The location. Most of the staff are friendly and helpful.
There are not enough sunbeds at the pool to cater for the amount of guests in high season and some people queue from 7.30am (the pool opens at 9am) to reserve a bed with their towel and then disappear for breakfast etc. Beds should not be reserved for later use. I personally do not want to be up at the crack of dawn on my holiday in order to reserve a bed! I had to go to the beach and pay for a bed most days. I complaned to staff on several occasions but they didn't seem to care.
The location of the hotel was ideal. The staff were very efficient and friendly. We enjoyed the dining room for breakfast each morning and were always greeted with smiles and a great wait staff. We did enjoy having the option of the pool although we didn't utilize it on a daily basis. The entertainment offered some versatility with music geared toward one group in the large reception area and also geared toward a younger crowd in the club downstairs of the hotel.
We found our hotel room comfortable, however, the bed pillows were very thin and hard. I thought the TV in the rooms were quite small and surprised that a decent size flat screen wasn't offered. The tv's were small. I thought for the price of the rooms that a small refrigerator to just hold some cold drinks could have been available as part of the room fee and not offered as an additional charge.
The cleaning staff were excellent!
There is plenty of scope for improvement - Upgrade the gym equipment. Improve the attitude of the staff to younger people (especially the security), evening entertainment was aimed squarely at the 70 plus. improve communication. As an independent traveller I was not made aware of any facilities/benefits, such as free sunbeds on the beach, parking availability, 2 for 1 offer at the beach bar. I also found there were too many old people and no one else of a similar age and disposition as myself (thirty something) therefore I felt isolated. I travel all over the world on business and this is the first time I have felt this way in a hotel. I will place my findings on Booked.net to make other people aware of the shortcomings of this hotel
Very good location for where we wanted to be, breakfast was very good and the pool was very warm.
The hotel was very good but the lifts took a long time, we waited at least 15 mins to get to the reception when going to check out.
my kids were always greeted with short friendly conversations by the cleaning staff as well as the breakfast and swimming pool staff..
i would definately not go back there again..the quality of the room was not to my preference..i requested a double room for my 2 kids and i,what i got was 2 single beds stuck to each other, and since there was no carpet in the room, the beds kept moving apart from each other...i couldn't sleep comfortably..when i asked if they had 1 big bed they said only a couple and unavailable..something else that i did not like was the rudeness of some of the staff at the reception..they don't smile and when i checked out and asked to call a taxi to the airport, to my surprise, the smallest taxi came so it couldn't carry my luggage.when i asked why he had called this taxi he became very rude and said that it was my fault why i hadnt requested a big taxi
Hotel clean and well situated. Staff friendly and helpful. Food of good standard and wide choice. Rooms comfortable and had free safe and fridge. The entertainment was provided by Thomson Gold reps and was very good. Even as independent travellers they had time to engage you in the hotels offering. Highly recommended.
As the hotel is adult only the average age of guests is 65 so prepare yourself as it changes the tempo of hotel atmosphere. However there were a small number of children.
Very clean and smart ... great pool area
The noise from the cabaret in the downstairs area every night travels up to most of the 15 floors.
It was near walking distance of where I wanted to go comfortable and clean good food .I would go again.
As I traveled alone I felt I was not awareof what was happening in the hotel at night. May be when booking in a update of events could be given thank you Teresa Guerin
Excellent location, Very relaxing Break.
It had everything we required. When you requested sea view you got one and ours was excellent on 14th. Floor. The walls very tin only complaint .stelleto heels next door a problem. Clientele middle aged however that had its advantages . we enjoyed our stay. But a bit over priced for bed and breakfast
We enjoyed the friendly efficient service which we received from all staff and also the quality of the food & entertainment. Being able to park on site at a reasonable charge is a bonus to us.
The only thing which we found annoying is not being able to control the temperature of the hotel room. For most of our visit it was far too warm and the thermastat settings had no noticable effect on the actual temperature. Much better than being cold though!
